Data Deletion

Website: Better Together Challenge

You may request deletion of your challenge data at any time. This page explains what data exists, what can be deleted, how to make a request, and what limitations apply.

Section 1: What Data the App Stores

Better Together Challenge stores the following data in its Supabase database:

— Challenge records: player display names, challenge settings, duration, start date, Room Code, Player Access Codes, and stakes text.

— Goals: the goal names entered by each player during setup.

— Daily logs: daily check-in records including which goals were completed and points earned.

— Log detail: goal-level completion records for each daily submission.

The app also stores the following on your device in browser local storage:

— Your current challenge ID and Player Access Code.

— A record of whether you have accepted the current beta notice.

Local storage data cannot be deleted remotely. You must clear it yourself through your browser settings.

Section 2: Shared Data

Each challenge involves two players. All challenge data — including both players' goals, logs, scores, and results — is stored together in the same challenge record. If you request deletion of your challenge data, the entire challenge record and all associated data for both players will be deleted. We will notify both players if we are able to, and we will confirm this with you before processing the deletion.

Section 3: How to Request Deletion

Send an email to bettertogethergoals@gmail.com with the subject line: Data Deletion Request

To help us locate your challenge, please include:

— Your display name as entered in the challenge.

— The Room Code for the challenge (shown on the challenge dashboard under Challenge Access).

— The approximate start date of the challenge.

— The other player's display name if known.

Do not send your Player Access Code by email. The information above is sufficient to locate your challenge record without requiring your access credentials.

Section 4: What Will Be Deleted

Upon a verified deletion request we will permanently delete from the Supabase database:

— The challenge record including all settings, names, Room Code, and stakes.

— All goals entered by both players.

— All daily logs and point records.

— All goal-level completion records.

Section 5: What Cannot Be Fully Deleted

Browser local storage: data stored on your device must be cleared by you through your browser settings. We cannot clear it remotely.

Supabase backups: Supabase retains database backups for a period outside our control. Deleted data may persist in backups temporarily before being overwritten according to Supabase's retention schedule.

Vercel infrastructure logs: Vercel may retain server access logs that include technical information such as IP addresses. These are outside our control and subject to Vercel's data retention policies.

Google Forms and Gmail: if you submitted a beta application or feedback form, that data is stored in Google Forms and Gmail. We will make reasonable efforts to delete it from our Google account but Google's own retention policies may apply.

Anonymous or aggregated data: non-identifying information used to understand product usage may be retained.

Section 6: How to Clear Your Device Data

To clear your local browser storage on your device:

— On Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and site data.

— On Safari: Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data.

— On Firefox: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear Data → Cookies and Site Data.

Clearing local storage will remove your saved challenge access on that device. You will need your Room Code and Player Access Code to reconnect.

Section 7: Response Time

We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 3 business days and complete deletion of Supabase data within 30 days. We will confirm by email when the deletion is complete.
